The Basics

Character Name: Charlie Weasley PB: Hugh Dancy Age: 28 Birthday: December 12th, 1972 Wand: 10", ash with dragon heartstring House in School: Gryffindor Bloodline: Pureblood Political View: Charlie is a member of the Order of the Phoenix working in Romania. He believes firmly that the blood politics are rubbish. He thinks that people like the Malfoys, who adhere to blood politics, are scum like his father does. This has branded him a blood traitor, however he's never cared what "those sorts" thought of him.

Appearance

Height: 6' Weight: 170lbs Eyes: Green Hair: Red Build: Tall and a bit stocky, and fairly muscular. Dress Style: Very casual. He's discovered he adores muggle dress, especially jeans and t-shirts, and has mostly abandoned robes unless he's home with his family. He tends to wear long trench coats when it's cold, and muggle trainers almost all the time. He generally doesn't care much for wizarding clothes simply because he finds muggle clothes more attractive and comfortable, particularly for his work, which often includes climbing hills and mountains to get to where the dragons tend to nest. He usually can be seen in a pair of jeans and a beat-up t-shirt when he's working. Basic Physical Description: Charlie is tall and thin, though through his adolesence he was quite stocky. He has curly, nearly unruly red hair and freckles. He tends to not bother shaving daily unless he's around his mother, which means when he's working or just hanging around, he's got a pretty good scruff going. Not that he's scruffy looking, he just doesn't shave all that much. He's got a rather easy appearence about him, very approachable. He's got many scars on his arms and legs from his beloved dragons. Defining Marks: Charlie's most defining features are his unruly, curly hair, his freckles which have grown a bit darker with age, and his multiple burns and scars on his arms and legs from working with dragons. He's thought many times of getting a tattoo, but just hasn't gotten to it yet.

Personality

Charlie in general is a very positive person. Not that he denys life can be difficult, but he always keeps a stiff upper lip and does what needs to be done, usually with a smile on his face. He's seen some hardships in his life... strife in his family, the war. He's seen friends and family members dead, injured and in constant peril. However, through all of it he was always able to keep a smile. He is FIERCLY loyal and protective of his family, though he unfortunatly spends more time away from them than he'd like due to his job. They are both his strength and his weakness. When Percy left them, it shook him because it made him realize that his family wasn't as solid as he'd once thought. He's always thought of his family as untouchable from the outside world, a sort of fortress that he could come home to and leave the world behind. They are his strength in that he can always rely on them for support and love. They are his weakness in that his love for them, should it be used against him, would be crippling and not allow him to take action if he knew there was a danger of them being hurt. He is quirky to say the least. He has an absolute passion for dragons. He is often easily distracted by anything that might remotely be dragon-related. His work is something he's very proud of, and tends to go on and on about them, again having his Father's tendancy towards near-obsession with his passion. He's a bit phobic of commitment, and though he's quite the romantic at heart. He's afraid of commitment because he feels that there's always greener pastures, and that his one true love is out there waiting for him. He feels like he'll know it, he'll have the "jolt" or some divine sign. And until then, he's somewhat content to wait, work and just be patient, though he's always up for a bit of romance, just to spice up life. Charlie LOVES quidditch. He developed a passion for it when he was in school, and since then has been a super-fan. He will do almost whatever he needs to to go to games, whether it be his local team or the England national team, or the Chudly Canons.

Psychology

Extrovert/Introvert: Charlie is most certainly an extrovert. He's rather jovial and will strike up a conversation with nearly anyone, particularly if they know anything about dragons. He tends to spend a lot of time with other people studying dragons, and has his father's tendancy to nearly obsess over things. (Arthur's obsession with muggle artifacts) He enjoys the company of others, but he's alright with being alone as well. Boggart Would Be: Charlie's boggart would be death by dragon fire. He's seen his fair share of his colleagues killed this way, and of course working with dragons it's always a risk. It would appear in the form of his body, in front of him, charred beyond recognition. Patronus Would Be: Charlie's patronus would be a dragon. They bring him a lot of comfort, and as much as he's around them, he almost feels like they're a part of him. His favourites are Hungarian Horntails, and so that would be his patronus.

Sexuality

I think that Charlie would be open to being bisexual, though he tends to have had relationships with girls mostly. He had one with Tonks, though when he returned to Romania it seems that it fizzled out. He hasn't really had much time for relationships in general, and when he's had them he hasn't exactly stuck around. Charlie is a bit of a commitment-phobe, though he always feels like if he finds the "right" one maybe he won't be so skittish.

Lifestyle

Occupation: Studying dragons in Romania Residence: he Burrow when he's in England, a small apartment outisde of Sibiu, Romania when he's working. Financial Status: A bit more than modest, since he gets paid fairly well for his research. Before his siblings were out of the house, he used to send money to the family to help them through hard times, but now that his parents are doing better he keeps it for himself. He's somewhat frugal, having spent years in near-poverty at home, though he's developed quite a love of artifacts relating to dragon history, and Romanian history as well. So he's allowed himself to begin buying and collecting things relating to these subjects. He's also become far too fond of muggle clothing, so while he generally can be found in jeans, trainers and t-shirts, he's splurged on some rather nice button-downs and jackets for dates and special occations. He also induldges in quidditch games, having become a fan of his local town's quidditch club. He's always an England supporter, though, and does his best to keep up with the national team and the Chudly Canons, which he shares his love of with Ron.

History from student days at Hogwarts to the present time

At Hogwarts, he was a Gryffindor, and played Seeker on the quidditch team. He was always outgoing and jovial, and was always very popular. He was fond of hanging out in the common room chatting with his mates and flirting with nearly everyone. His marks were always above average, and he was popular even among his professors. This unfortunatly made things someone difficult for his siblings, being the first of MANY Weasley children to attend. He's adored quidditch from a very early age. Nearly from the time he could walk, he was on a broom, and practiced many hours. Once his brother Bill was old enough, they played and played in the back yard, only coming in recluctantly as the last bits of sun disappeared below the horizon. When he was younger, his father used to take he and his siblings to quidditch games, but as the siblings multiplied, the games became fewer and fewer due to the cost and the time. But he still followed the Canons religiously, and was thrilled when his youngest brother, Ron showed an interest in them. At Hogwarts, he began playing Quidditch as soon as he was able, in his second year and became the Seeker, taking his place as one of the three most talked about Quidditch players at the school, along with Harry Potter and James Potter. He lead Gryffindor to victory his 7th year. His obsession with dragons began in school, when he took his first "Care of Magical Creatures" class in his first year. Even from that young an age, he was fascinated by them. He decided in his fourth year that he wanted to make them his career, so he took as many magical creature classes as he was allowed, and he studied hard, got good marks and ended up graduating near the top of his class. He left for Romania shortly after graduation, much to his parents' distress. Once in Romania, he threw himself into his work, learning everything he possibly could about dragons, aprenticed under the dragon masters there, and learned much more than he ever could have imagined or could have learned from books. He has a passion for showing the world that dragons aren't the horrible creatures that everyone believes they are, and is an advocate for the dragons in the small town in Romania where he resides, near the mountains. He threw himself into his work, and unfortunatly for a while his family relations suffered for it. As for his family, Charlie has always been close to them. He enjoys harassing his younger siblings as every big brother does, but also is very protective of them too, particularly the younger ones. He loves them all dearly. In recent times, though, his relationship with them has been a tad strained because of the distance, but he tries to visit as much as possible, though it's never as much as his mother would like. Charlie has always been an active member of the Order, much to his Mother's dismay. She always hated each of her children growing to join the Order, no matter how necessary it was. He worked for the Order in Romania as much as he could, recruiting members whenever possible. Since the end of the war, spending a lot of time working and just being... Charlie. Unfortunatly, being Charlie has left him distanced from Tonks, his former girlfriend, and from the rest of his family. How does he/she feel about the more infamous events and people in the world around him/her? Harry Potter and his victory over Voldemort? Dumbledore and his murder by Severus Snape? Lucius Malfoy's pardon and book publication? Snape's pardon and appointment back to his old job at Hogwarts? The Registry? Werewolf Remus Lupin's job at Hogwarts? Bellatrix' capture, insanity defence, followed by her "cure" and release from St. Mungo's? etc. He thinks that all the Death Eater releases, the collers for werewolves and such are complete rubbish, particularly since one of his brothers is a werewolf, another or his siblings is a sympathiser organizing protests, and being a friend of Remus Lupin's, he's very anti-collers for werewolves. In the past, he was a strong advocate for werewolves, though after his brother's attack his support wavered a bit. Though, even with the questions in his mind and the anger he felt over the attack, he'd never support any anti-werewolf legislation. He feels strongly that once a Death Eater, always one, and that there is no reforming them.
